Pfizer want to buy AstraZenica for a reported £60 billion but it has been rejected so far, but will it be good for the country. Pfizer have said that it will not close facilities in Britain or make redundancies here. More importantly is what would happen if these two companies became one. They could hold the NHS to ransom over what they could charge for medication, if they are the only company, which they could very well be. We have seen what happens when companies that supplied gas and electric were bought out by the big six suppliers, they become cartels and fix prices for goods although it's illegal we all know this is what happens. The government talks about controlling these companies but they do nothing except talk. In many cases MP,s are on the boards of these companies and we all know that looking after their interests comes before the interests of the country. This merger has to be opposed for the long term benefits of the country not its share holders.
