outsiders

It seems that we don't have people capable of running our institutions so David Cameron is talking about bringing in Bill Bratton from America to possible run the Metropolitan Police. Theresa  May the Home Secretary will open the door next week by proposing reforms to the police recruitment including allowing senior officers from  overseas to become chief constables. It seems strange that this government cant find people to fill these jobs from home. But the really sad part is that if we have to go abroad to find recruits and people to fill these positions, why doesn't it apply to the job of prime minister and other senior posts within government. Last week there was a report that said many of our permanent civil servants were not capable or up to doing their jobs. So lets put out to the world requests for people to run this country because its quite obvious that the people that we now have are totally incapable of doing the jobs.

Rip of Britain

European migrants should be barred from claiming benefits for children who live overseas, David Blunkett said yesterday. There are an estimated 40,251 children resident in another EU country. But surely the biggest problem under EU legislation is that immigrants who come to Britain from other EU countries are entitled to receive unemployment benefits at the same level as the  country they reside in. This is truly a one sided agreement. If Immigrants from countries such as Turkey or in 2014 from Bulgaria and Romania can receive the same benefits as a British person, Now this may seem fair but if people emigrate to these countries they would receive the benefits of these countries, that are far less than in Britain  so people would not emigrate to these countries they are far better stopping at home. So logically some one from Turkey or Romania and Bulgaria who is unemployed would be financially better coming to Britain. Now EU leaders who made these benefits universal would only be universal if every EU country paid exactly the same amount no matter in which country they resided. At present this scheme is totally beneficial to people coming from former eastern block countries to Britain, and  Germany where they will gain. people going they other way would be at a financial disadvantage. Is it any wonder therefore that unemployed people will flock from these countries to the west, putting more financial pressure on the hard pressed population on Britain and Germany  The sad part is that the people in power in Brussels are not affected by these problems because basically no body is coming for their jobs.

Cameron and Mali

David Cameron has sent two C-17 transport aircraft to help the French in their intervention in Mali, one has broken down already. Is this the act of a good NATO friend or is it a cynical ploy on Cameron's part? If in the near future the Argentinian President Kirchner was foolish enough to try and invade the Falklands and by some good luck on her part they managed to capture the islands again. We have limited forces down their four Typhoon aircraft and a VC 10 tanker and one C-130 transport and about 1800 military personnel. If they launched a supprise attack and if their air force was able to knock out the islands aircraft, it was only pure luck that the Argentinians in 1982 didn't destroy more ships as some bombs did not explode and others went straight through without exploding there would have been a different outcome to that conflict. Also the Argentinian pilots were told to avoid conflict with the Harriers, again a massive  mistake on their part. If and again its a big if, if they did gain control of the islands, all they would have to do is transport the Falkland islander citizens back to Argentina and tell Britain to come and pick them up or they would be interned, they would also transport the military personnel back to Argentina and they would be held as POW's. They would be released when Britain informed the United Nations and the world that Britain would give  up all sovereignty claims to the Falklands. Argentina is going through both political and financial problems. With full control of the islands they would have the fishing rights to the rich grounds but more importantly they could have the off shore oil reserves that people predict are in the region of 60-80 billion barrels. Is this a possible reason that Kirchner might think seriously about another invasion, in the short term is could be a Pyrrhic victory but in the long term a financial rewarding one and one that would endear her to the people, and she must know that no matter what the rhetoric coming from Britain we could not retake the islands without help from our allies. So is Cameron's support of the French just a ploy. Please if the islands are invaded can you lend us an aircraft carrier, as without one we can't retake the islands.
