The BBC has paid off 150 senior staff at a cost of over £25million and many were paid over the odds, the excuse from the BBC was that they had to do this to stop them taking the BBC to court? Why would these people be taking the BBC to court if they were made redundant and had been given the correct remuneration owed to them. Some of these senior people were paid in the areas of £350,000 to £900,000 depending on seniority and length of service. The BBC it would seem is a corrupt organisation with jobs, and pay outs for the boys and in many cases not what you know but who you know. James Purnell a failed Labour Minister who fell out with Gordon Brown when he was Prime Minister left as an MP, and hey presto he's suddenly Director of Strategy and Digital at the BBC. Did he apply for the job was he interviewed, but more importantly was the position advertised. No he was hand picked, this from a person who was questioned about his alleged abuse of expenses when an MP. Again is this jobs for the boys. Something that seems to be rife in this country. But more importantly isn't it about time that the BBC licence was abolished, the £145.50 would be better spent in peoples pockets. The BBC shouldn't be protected in todays environment, they should be made to work on a level playing field, with the other TV companies. If this were to happen you can bet that these high salaries would be cut to a realistic level. And what was the BBC's response to paying these people over the odds. By doing this and getting rid of these senior staff we have saved money, if that is correct then by not paying these people over the odds wouldn't the BBC have saved even more of the licence fees payers money? No because these people in authority are completely out of touch with the real world. But more importantly because they all go to the same clubs they have all been to the same universities, but even more important they all drink from the same cup and all piss in the same pot.
