Murder of Lee Rigby

With the brutal murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby some people are questioning the security and intelligence service. The killers are thought to have been known to the intelligence service. But even if they were what can the intelligence service do? They cant lock them up or arrest them, they can only identify and record them, and  it is impossible to follow them twenty four hours a day seven days a week.. This would cost millions of pounds and would require thousands of  police and secret service agents to follow all such suspects. Again the secret service are always brought under scrutiny when such things like this occur or when we have disasters such as 7/7. We are all wise after the events. But we don't always know about the many successes that go unmentioned or reported, we just have to thank the services and hope that they can catch these people before they do any damage to life or property.
