Senior local conservatives are urging the prime minister to delay a parliamentary decision on gay marriage till after the next election. About twenty of them delivered a letter to 10 Downing Street. Its also thought that 180 MP's and 4 cabinet ministers could also abstain in a parliamentary vote. This is the height of hypocrisy on the part of these conservatives. If they are opposed to gay marriage you don't abstain you have the strength of your conviction and vote against gay marriage. As for those conservatives who delivered the letter, again if they are opposed to gay marriage they inform the prime minister. Asking him to put it off till after the next election is absolute rubbish. What is the point of that if he does the problem over gay marriage will still be there in 2015. Do these conservatives actually think that they will win the next election?
