Cameron and Mali

David Cameron has sent two C-17 transport aircraft to help the French in their intervention in Mali, one has broken down already. Is this the act of a good NATO friend or is it a cynical ploy on Cameron's part? If in the near future the Argentinian President Kirchner was foolish enough to try and invade the Falklands and by some good luck on her part they managed to capture the islands again. We have limited forces down their four Typhoon aircraft and a VC 10 tanker and one C-130 transport and about 1800 military personnel. If they launched a supprise attack and if their air force was able to knock out the islands aircraft, it was only pure luck that the Argentinians in 1982 didn't destroy more ships as some bombs did not explode and others went straight through without exploding there would have been a different outcome to that conflict. Also the Argentinian pilots were told to avoid conflict with the Harriers, again a massive  mistake on their part. If and again its a big if, if they did gain control of the islands, all they would have to do is transport the Falkland islander citizens back to Argentina and tell Britain to come and pick them up or they would be interned, they would also transport the military personnel back to Argentina and they would be held as POW's. They would be released when Britain informed the United Nations and the world that Britain would give  up all sovereignty claims to the Falklands. Argentina is going through both political and financial problems. With full control of the islands they would have the fishing rights to the rich grounds but more importantly they could have the off shore oil reserves that people predict are in the region of 60-80 billion barrels. Is this a possible reason that Kirchner might think seriously about another invasion, in the short term is could be a Pyrrhic victory but in the long term a financial rewarding one and one that would endear her to the people, and she must know that no matter what the rhetoric coming from Britain we could not retake the islands without help from our allies. So is Cameron's support of the French just a ploy. Please if the islands are invaded can you lend us an aircraft carrier, as without one we can't retake the islands.
