Me Me Me.

I was always lead to believe that people who stood for public life did so because they wanted to do something for their community or the people of the country. But it would now seem on an ever increasing day to day occurrence that certain people now in public life are doing it for their own self promotion and gratification. We had Sally Bercow who used her husbands position as speaker in the House of commons to promote herself appearing on a game show that most intelligent people wouldn't entertain to watch. Then we now have Louise Mensch MP who is currently gracing the pages of the magazine GQ in a tight leather skirt and a pussy bow blouse and is complaining that no one is taking her seriously. Who has complained that she is not even a PPS  she would like a crack at International Development as she pens another so called book. She doesn't expect to win the Booker Prize but wouldn't mind if her novel got the Hollywood treatment. If she had the chance of having a move made from it or becoming a  cabinet ministers she'd take the move. Again this is all me,me,me, and this from a member of parliament who couldn't remember when asked whether she'd taken drugs as a graduate or not, again  is this not what is called selective amnesia. The growing numbers of parliamentarians who are looking to further their opportunities on game and quiz shows seems to be increasing week on week. How do these people find time to do the job they are paid for as constituency MP's is it any wonder then that the public has less and less respect for these self publicists.
