David Cameron has told the MoD to plan for a no fly zone over Libya. When he really means that the Americans and NATO will implement a no fly zone. We could at a stretch possible provide three or four aircraft and one has to presume that they would be based in Cyprus, they certainly won,t be flying from an aircraft carrier. Not a British one anyway. If these problems in the North Africa and the Middle East perhaps escalate to other areas of the globe in the very near future does he think for one minute that British military power could assist our American friends? We would just get under their feet. As he diminishes our military powers and the sun sets on our global asperations the sun is rising on the Soviets who are again increasing their military power as are India, and China. Where does this leave poor old Britain? Waving a tattered Union Flag or a white one.
