Bahrain.

Britain has both economic and military ties with Bahrain as has the United States, both countries have a vital military presence in the state. It does now seem quite a double edged sword when the government is looking into the licences that have been granted to some British companies that deal in the arms industry with Bahrain. Also when Britain and America and other western countries are calling for more democracy in these Arab states. We have for years supported a minority Sunni monarchy who rules sway over the Shia majority of its population. The monarch is friendly with both the government of Britain and our monarchy. Could this change dramatically over the coming months as with other Arab states in the middle east who are now asking for democracy and freedom for their peoples?
